Way4ward

Way4ward has an urgent need for a volunteer to train for the position of ‘Volunteer Link Worker’.

Do you have a compassion for people who are/have been in the Criminal Justice System and – their families? Would you like to be part of helping them and their families?

This is a key position within the way4ward team.

Way4ward is a pioneering ministry, so this post is unsalaried.

It is envisaged this voluntary post would suit someone who will commit to:

  • 1 working designated day a week[1] 10:00am to 4.00pm based at Raleigh Park Baptist Church, Arodene Road, Brixton.
  • attend the 2 Friday services[2] a month 7:30pm – 9.00pm held at Raleigh Park Baptist Church, Arodene Road, Brixton.
  • attend the Quarterly Way4ward Networking Meeting 7:30pm – 9.00pm held at Raleigh Park Baptist Church,

The person must be committed to the Way4ward@raleighpark vision* and its spiritual oversight*

The person for this post will need to possess: –

  • A compassion for people who are/have been in the Criminal Justice System – and their families
  • Excellent/professional phone manner/communication skills which include exceptional listening skills and diplomacy
  • The ability to work in multi-agency situations (preferably with experience of this)
  • The capacity to be self-motivating as well as a good team worker

[1] Thursdays at present; this is likely to change

[2] The aim of these Friday meetings is to create a worship community that is welcoming to ex-offenders; currently held at Raleigh Park Church on the first and third Mondays of the month.
