Steve is the CEO and founder of Way4ward Solutions CIC, a user led BME organisation providing interventions to reduce violence, offending behaviour, prevent and divert adults and young people from entering the criminal justice system. Steve is trained by the Samaritans to support vulnerable and suicidal prisoners. He is a business and life coach and works with some of the most challenging and violent young people and offenders. He is a qualified health and fitness consultant, a qualified community sports leadership coach and assessor. Steve has considerable experience of setting up interventions that promote social inclusion for those recovering from addiction, mental ill health, homelessness, imprisonment, excluded from school and long term unemployed.
Steve was previously awarded the unsung heroes award for his work with young people in 2003, he was the Deputy CEO for Pecan and was responsible for PbR IOM and integrated DIP service for Lewisham. He acts as advisor to the government on issues of reducing re-offending, crime diversion, inequalities, employment and enterprise. He is a qualified business and management consultant. Steve gained a degree in Social Science with Psychology and an Open University diploma in Health and Social Welfare whilst in prison. He has a Masters in Charity Marketing and Fundraising, a Masters in Voluntary Sector Management, MA in Missional Leadership and an MBA (specialising in entrepreneurship and consultancy). He is co-founder of Transformed, founder of Way4ward Solutions and working towards a doctorate researching the impact of faith on the desistance of black men who have served time in prison.
